Josie grew up in Deal, Kent and started dancing at the age of just two, training in all styles and following the RAD syllabus in classical ballet. She started performing professionally at the age of eight, appearing alongside Miss Heather in the Marlowe Theatre christmas pantomimes and Easter productions, as ‘Shanti’ in The Jungle Book and on Michael Barrymore’s ‘My Kind of People’ on ITV. At 16, she was awarded a full scholarship to train professionally in Musical Theatre and Dance at ‘Millennium Performing Arts’ in London.
Whilst training, Josie was given a lot of great opportunities to develop her skills as a choreographer, assisting several industry professionals and having her work selected by an outside panel of experts for the choreographic showcases and ‘best of assessments’ show all three years. She was also asked to create a piece for Sky One’s ‘Got to Dance’ and Adam Garcia described her work as ‘revolutionising Tap’.
Since graduating, Josie has been performing professionally in all areas of the theatre industry. Credits include; ‘Carmen’ UK Tour (Juanita/Dance Captain), Lead Vocalist for AIDA and Celestyal Cruise Lines, ‘One Fine Day’ (Sherry), ‘The Music of Michael Jackson and Madonna’, ‘Aladdin’ (Princess Jasmine), ‘Dick Whittington’ (Dick), ‘Peter Pan’, ‘West End Live’, ‘Legends of Las Vegas’, ‘Age of Wushu media launch’, ‘The Premier Asian Wedding show’, ‘The Showchoir’ (ITV). She is currently performing as a lead vocalist onboard the ‘Oriana’ for P&O Cruises, as part of the Headliners Theatre Company. In between contracts, Josie works as a freelance dance teacher and choreographer, in and around Kent.
